Bio:
My name is Joshua J. Castro and I am a lifelong learner who decided to become a teacher. I was born and raised in the South Bay and moved to the Inland Empire when I was in high school. I have always enjoyed school and decided that a career in education would be the right pathway for me. I aim to share my passion of history and my love of learning with my students.
Prior to being in the classroom, I spent time working as a Ride Operator at Castle Amusement Park, as an Assistant Manager at GameStop, and as the Tournament Coordinator for the Southern California Gaming Expo.
I started at Santa Rosa Academy in 2023 as the Secondary Resident Substitute Teacher (Grades 6-12). 2024-2025 was my first year as a teacher and I taught Civic Studies. Last year, I taught the following courses Civic Studies, MS Leadership, MS Yearbook, and College & Career.
This year, I will be teaching MS Leadership and Civic Studies. I love working with these students and am proud of the amazing things they do.
