May 2nd, 4th grader Cammie Castillo and 5th grader Maya Sanchez played in the championship game for Murrieta Valley Girls Softball Association in the 10U Division. Their team, the Guardians, won in a walk-off, 11-10. Cammie pitched a complete game with 5 strikeouts. Cammie also went 3 for 3 at the plate. Maya played stellar defense at second base. She went 2 for 3 at the dish. The girls exhibited integrity, excellence, and respect as they batted at the top of their team's order, Maya batting leadoff and Cammie right behind her in the second spot, advancing Maya on the base path with each at bat.
