Dear Parents and Staff,

A few hours ago, Governor Newsom announced that in-person learning for the fall will only be allowed in counties not listed on the COVID-19 monitoring list for fourteen days. As you know, Riverside county is one of the counties on that list, and unless it moves off the list, students won’t be allowed on campus for the start of the new school year.

Throughout these unprecedented times, Santa Rosa Academy Board of Education and I have advocated for parent choice, so our families could choose in-person or distance learning. However, Governor Newsom’s mandate today took parent choice away.

In the coming few days, the governor will release his written orders, and the California Department of Education will interpret his orders and deliver additional guidance to schools.

Please rest assured that high-quality instruction will continue to be paramount at Santa Rosa Academy. We are prepared to be flexible and innovative, and your children will continue to grow and thrive in the upcoming school year.

More information will become available soon.
