Santa Rosa Academy aligns its TK-12 school counseling program with the framework of the ASCA National Model consisting of four components:
  • Defining
  • Managing
  • Delivering
  • Assessing
What types of services are available?
Social-Emotional Resiliency, Academic, as well as College and Career Readiness.
 
What does comprehensive school counseling include?
  • Individual Counseling: Some students can benefit from one-on-one counseling regarding academic, social, or emotional challenges.
  • Classroom Support: Counselors visit classrooms multiple times throughout the school year and have the chance to interact with every student. Presentations typically last 30 minutes in length and cover topics such as; school readiness skills, understanding feelings of self and others, problem-solving skills, friendship skills, study skills, including college and career readiness.
  • Small Groups: A variety of small groups are offered to students who may benefit from spending some extra time developing academic, social, or emotional skills along with their peers, and to students who are coping with similar life situations.  Groups can have anywhere from 3-10 members and usually meet weekly for four to six weeks.
